Professional Adoption & Foster Care Counseling

Bonni Goodwin, LCSW, Counseling Supervisor

Bonni joined Connect in June 2013. She is a Licensed Master of Social Work in the State of Oklahoma. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Services at John Brown University in Arkansas and Master’s degree in Social Work at Washburn University in Kansas. Bonni has focused on specialized training and gained understanding of how adoption, foster care and early childhood complex trauma affects children and families, as well as how to help in the healing journey. Bonni is a Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI) Practitioner and Educator, Certified Level I Theraplay Practitioner, and has received numerous trainings regarding Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Family Systems, DSMV-5 diagnostic symptoms and management, and adoption competency in mental health services. Bonni’s heart is to join each individual or family at the place where they are and help them determine how to foster security and deep levels of joy and connection.

 

 

Lauren Labeth, LCSW Therapist

Lauren joined Connect in December 2015 to serve as a therapist and work with individuals and families who have been touched by adoption and foster care. Lauren has her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma, as well as, her clinical license in social work. Lauren has several years of experience in working with children on the autism spectrum. She has also worked with children and families who have been touched by significant medical or behavioral needs through an internship with Oklahoma Family Network. Lauren is blessed daily to work with individuals and families using Trust-Based Relational Interventions, Theraplay®, and other attachment-rich modalities. Since deciding on social work, Lauren has had a passion to make a difference in the lives of others. At DPA, Lauren’s prayer is to walk alongside families as they work through the adoption and/or foster care process and create meaningful, safe, joyful and loving relationships.

 

 

Phoebe Barron, LPC-c, Therapist

Phoebe joined the DPA team in April of 2017 as a therapist at Connect Counseling. She is passionate about helping families navigate life’s struggles and finding healing from the hurtful things in their lives. She has a BA from East Central University in Communication Studies. After completing her undergraduate degree, she and her husband moved to Kansas City for her to pursue her seminary education at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where she received an MA in Counseling. Phoebe has focused her post-school training in the areas of trauma and anxiety and is trained in EMDR, a treatment for trauma. She is currently an LPC Candidate.

Phoebe enjoys coffee, the great local food of OKC, nerding out on psychology stuff, her family, and great conversations.
